What a fun Bali extended family vacation photo session! They traveled all of the way to Bali from Australia for a family reunion. What a wonderful place to escape the city with a large family! It was our honour to document their gathering in Bali. This session was taken in Umalas, Villa Mamoune by our associate Bali photographer team.

I loved this family session and the amazing group of people I had the opportunity to work with! They were all so kind and we got a lot of great happy images of everyone. This Bali family session is a great example of how I typically shoot extended family sessions– we’ll do some shots with the whole group, then break it down into the smaller family groupings. And of course I always love grabbing some shots near the end when everybody jump to the pool!
About the villa: Built in 2010, Villa Mamoune is the brainchild of Belgian decorator Marianne Dengis. When she first saw the mango trees on this lush field she knew she had a new project on her hands. Less than 2 years and many trips to the Island later, the house stands as if it has been there for ever. Weathered railway sleepers lead your way in the garden while only ancient teak has been used on the floor. Antique furniture and unique artworks combine to give Villa Mamoune the feel of a collector’s residence.

The architecture of villa Mamoune is a mix of traditional Javanese and Balinese influences. The exterior and interior create an unique inspirational artistic ambience that pictures cant do justice to. Marianne Dengis carefully selected antique furniture and unique artworks give Villa Mamoune the feel of a collectors residence and create a stylish, tropical and relaxing atmosphere.
