Beratan Lake and Temple or Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is a major Hindu Shiva temple located near a water body in Bali. The temple complex is located on the shores of Lake Bratan in the mountains near Bedugul. The water from the lake serves the entire region in the outflow area; downstream there are many smaller water temples that are specific to each irrigation association.
Built-in 1633, Beratan Temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Bratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali. The 11-storey pelinggih meru in the complex is dedicated to Shiva and his consort Parvathi. Buddha’s statue is also enshrined in this temple. This temple is also called as Bali temple on the lake because it looks like it is floating when the Bratan river water rises.
The best timing to shoot at Beratan Lake and Temple is on sunrise starting from 6 am. For this route I recommend for people who willing to wake up so early as you will need to depart from Denpasar from 4 am, sometimes if you hire a make up artist, the make up will start 2 hours before that! So this session is only for morning person.
Wear your best dress! Any colour is perfect here.
To make an excellent photos here, I suggest to hire a boat so we could create the dramatic photography from the lake. The entrances fees for photo shooting is IDR 1,000,000, boat rental is IDR 150,000
