Fine art Bali prewedding on film and digital of Victoria and Wing, our clients from Singapore. This gallery is a hybrid mix of digital and film photography, captured at the dramatic Black Lava fields of Kintamani and at their hotel in K Club Ubud. The session was photographed by our associate photographer Eka, who worked intentionally with both formats to balance emotion, texture, and clarity. I personally prefer shooting a hybrid mix of film and digital rather than using analog film only, as it allows more flexibility while preserving the soul and character that film brings to the story.
Eka has a deep love for capturing portrait sessions using his film camera, drawn to the softness, subtle tones, and timeless quality it creates. Film adds a gentle imperfection that feels human and enduring, turning fleeting moments into indelible memories that remain long after the photographs are taken.
After exploring the dramatic textures of the Black Lava fields, we moved the session to K Club Ubud for a more relaxed and intimate portion of the shoot. K Club Ubud, with its 30 fully serviced villas seamlessly integrated into the lush landscape, offered a beautiful contrast — calm green surroundings, open spaces, and gentle light that played softly through the trees. The organic restaurant, inviting pool club, and serene yoga and fitness facilities overlooking the jungle provided a variety of backdrops that felt both effortless and elegant. This setting allowed Victoria and Wing to move naturally, share quiet moments, and feel completely present, making the transition from bold landscapes to personal connection feel organic and timeless.
One of the highlights of the session at K Club Ubud was spending time around the infinity pool, where the jungle stretches endlessly beyond the water’s edge. The stillness of the pool, paired with the surrounding greenery, created a quiet and intimate atmosphere that felt almost cinematic. Victoria and Wing moved effortlessly through the space, allowing the moments to unfold naturally. Reflections on the water, soft light, and gentle movement added depth and emotion to the images, making this part of the shoot feel calm, timeless, and deeply personal.
