Engagement Session at Sangeh Monkey Forest of Ayla and Scott our client travel from The United States. This session was one part of their full-day engagement session in Bali. It was December rains season in Bali when we did their session but luckily it was just drizzling so we decided to continue the whole day session. This forest located near to Sangeh village; the renowned 6 hectares of Bali Sangeh Monkey Forest is filled with giant nutmeg trees.
Sangeh Monkey Forest is a nature reserve and is best known for its many monkey kingdoms. The grey macaques that inhabit the nutmeg forest each have a ring leader – and for the whole, there is 1 highest ruler or ‘king’ living in the largest area, where you can find Bukit Sari Temple, a sanctified temple dating back to the 17th century. In the central courtyard, a large statue of Garuda, an old carving of uncertain date, symbolizes freedom from suffering and the attainment of Amerta, the elixir of life. The monkeys of the forest are believed to be sacred and indeed will approach anyone paying respects at the temple.
