Cathy and Robs wanted to do Bali pre-wedding shoot before their incoming wedding in November 2017. They travel far away from San Francisco, California to Bali to attend their friend’s wedding. Serangan Island is located 10km south of Denpasar is often referred to as ‘Turtle Island’, due to it being a frequent nesting ground for green sea turtles. This has drastically changed over the years, and consumption of turtle meat, as well as the use of sea turtles in ceremonies, is now a tale of the past. Serangan Island is also home to Sakenan Temple, located on the westernmost edge of the island. Reclamations in the 90s have led to a drastic change of pilgrims’ ways and the natural landscape. Once a separate land mass only reachable by traditional wooden boats, it is now easily accessed via a 110m bridge.
To most people, Serangan Island is small, hot, and humid, with average beaches to enjoy. In fact, it’s considered among the least-visited attractions in Bali. But several unique features of this small island make it a stand out, especially for an unique Bali pre-wedding shoot.
Serangan Island is one to best part of Bali to do a Bali pre-wedding shoot, while the location is easily reachable from the city centre, there are also many spot to get a beautiful photographs.
I took some of this session with Film camera, Fujifilm 400h on contax645

From Katie & Rob:
My fiancé and I were traveling to Bali for a wedding we were attending and thought oh why not take some pre-wedding photoshoot (our wedding 11/11/17) while being in beautiful Bali. As a professional makeup artist, I was fortunate enough to have a sense of taste in photograph considering my 9 years wedding industry experience. I have read great reviews about Gusmank but what was equally important was his technique and the quality of his pictures in his portfolio. They’re amazing! The moment I reached out to him, he responded accordingly and was very diligent at following up before the photo shoot and after we completed the session. He certainly ensuring us every step of the way what to expect. He picked us up at our hotel and took us where he said he would have the shoot. We communicated via WhatsApp. We were very comfortable with him. Funny and sweet young guy. Even after we have received all our pictures, he was so kind as to follow up on our thoughts about the pictures. He was very easy to talk to, polite, and his techniques are so unique. He seriously has the eyes for photography. It was an honor to have him be the 1st photographer to capture our pre-wedding moments. When in Bali, reach out to Gusmank for your photoshoot of any occasion!
