What started off as a holiday in Thailand and Indonesia eventually turned out to become an elopement wedding for Mayara and Rafael. The Brazilian couple fell in love with Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan and spontaneously decided to tie the knot in a romantic elopement ceremony at the iconic resort in Ubud.
Before their new beginning, Mayara and Rafael wanted to have a purification ceremony at the island’s venerated Tirta Empul Temple. “We truly believe in the energy of Bali and would be very happy to have the purification ceremony,” said Mayara.

The couple asked me to capture their purification rituals at the holy spring temple. The purification ceremony is believed to cleanse one’s energy and banish negative emotions – a significant milestone for the couple who wished to start their life together as man and wife.

Their romantic elopement wedding ceremony at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan was truly one for the book. Officiated by a priest, Mayara and Rafael exchanged their vows and said ‘I do’ to a new beginning as a married couple. The intimate and heartfelt love celebration was a joy to witness. I tried to capture the couple’s love and private moments without being intrusive. After the ceremony, the couple walked around the lush landscape and making the most of the beautiful green surroundings, I captured the newlyweds enjoying each other’s company and having fun.
