Simone and Aaron’s Ungasan Bali wedding was a beautiful blend of elegance, tropical scenery, and relaxed destination-wedding romance. One of the details that immediately stood out was the bridesmaids dressed entirely in black. Against the bright Bali landscape and the bride’s white gown, the dark dresses created a sophisticated contrast and gave the wedding an effortlessly elegant character.
A Beautiful Morning of Bridal Preparations
The day began with Simone getting ready, surrounded by the excitement and anticipation of the morning. Her makeup was done by the renowned makeup artist Ranny Bronzer, creating a polished yet natural bridal look that photographed beautifully in the soft light.
We love capturing this part of the wedding because it gives the story a quieter beginning. Before the ceremony, there are all those little details: the finishing touches to the makeup, the bride getting ready, the wedding dress waiting to be worn, and the people closest to her sharing the morning together.
The natural light coming through the windows created a beautiful setting for Simone’s getting-ready portraits. The bright interior, white dress, and soft greenery outside gave the photographs a fresh, airy quality while still retaining the warmth of the moment.
Elegant Black Bridesmaids
The black bridesmaid dresses were one of our favourite visual elements of the day.
With everyone dressed in black, the bridal party had a sophisticated and timeless look. The darker tones also created beautiful contrast against Bali’s bright tropical surroundings, allowing Simone’s white wedding dress to stand out even more.
The combination of black bridesmaid dresses, white bridal gown, and lush green landscape gave the wedding photographs a clean and editorial feeling without making the celebration feel overly formal.
The Ungasan Ceremony
The ceremony took place at The Ungasan, surrounded by manicured tropical gardens and Bali’s dramatic coastal landscape. The setting naturally lends itself to wide compositions, allowing the architecture, greenery, sky, and ocean to become part of the wedding story.
Rather than photographing only the couple, we also wanted to show the environment around them. This gives the photographs a stronger sense of place and allows you to remember not only how the wedding looked, but where it happened.
The floral arrangements added another layer of softness, with white flowers and greenery complementing the tropical setting beautifully.
From The Ungasan to Melasti Beach
After the ceremony, we headed to Melasti Beach for the couple session.
This change of location brought a completely different atmosphere. The structured elegance of The Ungasan gave way to the raw beauty of the coastline, with limestone cliffs, sand, and the open ocean creating a dramatic backdrop for Simone and Aaron.
