If you notice that this gallery feels softer and grainier than most of my work, it’s because around 90% of these images were taken on an analog film camera. Although I shot this wedding in a hybrid approach, combining both film and digital, I wanted to share the full film look for this particular story.
Starting in mid-2023, I began shooting more on film simply to have fun and to slow down a little. Film changed the way I work. It asks for patience, for waiting, for trusting the moment before pressing the shutter. There’s a quiet excitement in not seeing the result immediately, in waiting for the film to be developed. That sense of anticipation feels like part of the magic.
Because of film’s limitations, there are fewer frames, fewer chances to reshoot, and no instant review. Every click matters. This restriction is exactly what makes shooting film more challenging and, at the same time, more rewarding. It pushes me to be present, observant, and intentional, allowing moments to unfold naturally rather than forcing them.
More and more clients are also requesting film photography, drawn to the nostalgic feeling it brings to the images.
Alex and James celebrated their wedding at Wonderland Uluwatu with a bright, joyful décor that translated beautifully on film. The colors, textures, and natural light worked in perfect harmony with the analog medium, giving the images a soft, nostalgic quality that feels both timeless and full of life. Seeing how the film rendered the atmosphere made the experience even more special for me.
The ceremony was held at the cliff deck of Wonderland Uluwatu, overlooking the ocean in a setting that felt both open and deeply personal. Styled with boho-inspired décor, the space was adorned with vibrant flowers and layered carpets that added warmth and texture to the ceremony. Surrounded by their closest guests, Alex and James exchanged vows in an intimate atmosphere, followed by a heartfelt toast shared together. Every moment felt unhurried and sincere, a celebration shaped by connection, laughter, and the quiet beauty of being fully present with the people they love.
Congratulations on your Wonderland Uluwatu Bali Wedding Alex and James.
