Incline Village is a paradise for adventurers, offering exhilarating activities the whole year through. The surrounding Sierra Nevada thrives in winter, drawing flocks of snow-lovers to Diamond Peak’s groomed runs and glade skiing.
We ride Amtrak from San Francisco at 6 o’clock in the morning, the travel should only take 5-6 hours in normal condition. But the weather that day isn’t the best time for travel, specially to elevated area like Incline Village and Lake Tahoe. The Amtrak train only drop us until Sacramento, and we had to rode a connecting bus from Sacramento to Truckee. We ended up stuck on the hi-way due to snow storm for almost 5 hours. Thanks to our AirBnB host who pick us up at Truckee depot. She really save us.
Incline Village at Lake Tahoe is named for the Great Incline Tramway built by loggers in 1878. Today, Incline is home to some of Lake Tahoe’s most stunning mountain retreats. This eastern North Shore enclave features some of the areas most relaxing beaches and a genteel approach to Lake life. Beach? Yes you read it right. They have white sand beach & wave up in the mountain.
We spend 2 night in this Village, and we really felt the freedom, clean air, clean water, wind and bird sound so clear, everything look so magical. We felt like we flew back to the old era of the world. Let grab some snows…
Food and coffee
You wont need to worry about food here, they had plenty of restaurant & coffee shop across Tahoe Blvd. The Coffee Shop is our favourite. Nestled in the heart of Incline Village resides a modern, chic, and boldly aromatic coffee shop that challenges the status-quo of North Lake Tahoe. Dubbed the I.V. Coffee Lab, the I.V. stands for Intravenous to those in the know, and Incline Village to those from out of town. The Coffee Lab is Clean, and aesthetically modern.
Both South and North Lake Tahoe have their fair share of coffee shops, but almost none of them carry you to another city, another style, and another mindset. The I.V. Coffee Lab excels at being a place not only to get your exceptional quality coffee–but also sit and drink it in an atmosphere that would both inspire and relax.
Ski & Snowboarding
Skiing and snowboarding are a vital part of the North Lake Tahoe experience. Tourists and locals alike flock to North Lake Tahoe for skiing and snowboarding adventures, not to mention some of the finest winter athletes around call Lake Tahoe home. In fact this is the first reason we traveled to this Village. But nature said different, the snow storm won’t stop that day, and we were not allowed to access the Diamond Peaks Ski Resort.
