Luxury yacht proposal in Bali. Bali is an island of contrasts, offering a wide range of stunning backdrops for proposals. From majestic mountains and cliffs overlooking the ocean to serene rice paddies and hidden waterfalls, there’s a perfect setting to match every couple’s vision. However, for my client, the intimate and romantic ambiance of a yacht proposal was the ideal choice. When I get the opportunity to shoot a luxury proposal here, I know the setting will do a lot of the storytelling for me. As a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless proposals in this paradise. Each time I’m invited to photograph a proposal aboard a yacht, I know I’m in for something extraordinary.

The gentle sway of the yacht on the water, the sun shimmering on the horizon, and the sense of complete privacy create a setting that feels like it was made for romance. Rivaldo and Jaquiline were enjoying a drink and taking in the scenery. Little does Jaquiline know, something much more special is about to happen.

The proposal moment was the heart of the experience. When Jaqueline turned to face the bow of the yacht, she saw a special message displayed in bold red font on the spreaders. The words “Will You Marry Me?” were etched there. Jaqueline’s eyes widened in disbelief as she read the message. A wave of emotions washed over her, and tears of joy began to flow. As Rivaldo knelt before her, holding out the engagement ring, her heart swelled with love and happiness. She enthusiastically agreed.
One of my favorite moments to capture is the instant before Rivaldo kneels down. It’s often a private exchange, a soft smile, or a deep breath. Then, as he pulls out the ring, time seems to slow down. Out at sea, with nothing but the open water around them, the couple is in their own world.
The emotions are unfiltered and absolutely beautiful. Once the proposal was done, the couple sat back, soaking it all in, laughing and holding each other.
The surprise proposal was followed by a private dinner. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting these candle-lit dinners on the deck, where Rivaldo & Jaquiline enjoyed a moment of calm after the adrenaline rush of the proposal.
