If there is a resort that knows all there is to know about setting up a place for romance, it must be Aksari Resort Ubud. Its multi-purpose, open-air bamboo hall was transformed to accommodate Victor’s surprise proposal to her girlfriend, Helen. A “red carpet” made of rose balsam flower petals paved the way to Victor’s proposal, Helen’s teary “yes” and the priceless moment when their lives are forever changed.

The Canadian couple started off as business partners and together with another partner, co-founded a start-up. In the end, Helen and Victor started a relationship. During the pandemic, they decided to work from Bali and spent six months living on the island. Victor contacted us to capture the surprise proposal as well as creating the couple’s Bali’s engagement photoshoot in several other locations after the proposal.
An hour before the proposal, we helped Victor to stick the couple’s pictures on the balloons that decorated the petal-strewn red carpet. Helen was told that they would be attending a wedding of Victor’s friend. On her arrival at Aksari Resort Ubud, she was whisked away to the bamboo hall. Hand-in-hand, they walked along the red carpet, sharing intimate moments before finally, Victor dropped to one knee and asked Helen the big question.
