It’s my second Hong Kong traveling. Last year it just a short business trip, but this time it totally awesome holiday. One full weeks, a plenty of time to explore the busiest city in Asia.

A direct flight from Bali to Hong Kong took around 7 hours. Therefore choosing a comfy flight is a must! Before you go, remember to install Google Maps on your smart phone. Even Hong Kong is an international business port, most of the locals cant speak english clearly, so it a bit hard to communicate with them. By having google maps on your phone it’s really help full to know where you are and where you want to go without need to ask people around.

Internet access also a crucial part if you traveling abroad. My recommendation, get your 7 Day pass Internet SIM card at Hong Kong Tourism Board once you arrive at the airport. You might need to get Octopus Card for easies way to pay your Bus, MTR, Taxi, or any bills without need to prepare for cash money. you can get this card on 7-Eleven, Circle-K or any other convenience store.

So prepare your passport, pack your luggage and let get started…

Day 1 – WAN CHAI

We stayed in Wan Chai area for couple days, It’s a metropolitan area situated at the western part of the Wan Chai District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island. It has a lot of food stall so you wont get starving here, and it’s cheap too. The easiest & fun way to explore the area is using TRAM. It’s flat rate, so you just pay the same amount wherever you go. Just sit down and enjoy the Hong Kong street view.

Day 2 – Shenzhen, China

Visiting Shenzhen is easy if you are an Asian, just go to Lo Wu port and process for visa on arrival when you cross the border. There most interesting place here is Window of the World, it a Theme Park of miniature from around the world, It’s a good place if you want to have Pre-Wedding photo shot here, so prepare your camera 😀

For shopaholic, shenzhen is great place to spend your money, if you lucky you might found the high quality rip-off product in cheap price, but unfortunately we can’t find the place.

Day 3 – Peak Tram & Madame Tussauds

To get to this area you need to go to Central, you can get there by Bus, MTR, or Tram. We prefer tram since it stop nearly in front of the entrance of Peak Tram. You can see the whole Hong Kong city from here, but the weather that day is not that good, so we can’t take any picture of the view. You might need to prepare for jacket, since this place is a bit cold & windy.

Day 4 – Disneyland Hong Kong

Well, it was fun there, but don’t expect to much on it game, it might good for kids. But I prefered Universal Studios Singapore or Everland in South Korea. The only thing I like about Disneyland is the PARADE, it was spectacular & colourful, Photographers will love it.

Day 5 – Tsim Sha Sui & Ngong Ping

Tsim Sha Sui is an urban area in southern Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is a major tourist hub in metropolitan Hong Kong, with many shops and restaurants that cater to tourists. You can found lot of High end brand here, brands that wont fit for my pocket 😀

We stayed at Hopp-Inn, it situated in a strategic location, you can easily access for restaurant, shopping mall & various transport. it’s cheap, clean, and has unique decoration. Recommended!

We visited Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, a large bronze statue of a Buddha Amoghasiddhi, that located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island. The easiest way to reach the Buddha is through the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car, which takes merely 25 minutes and allows us to breathe in the beautiful scenery along the way. But again, the weather is not good that day, and we can’t get a good picture there.

Day 6 – Machau

Macau lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta across from Hong Kong to the east, bordered by Guangdong Province to the north and facing the South China Sea to the east and south. It’s Las Vegas of Asia, a gambler’s paradise. We arrive here by TurboJet Ferry, and as it said, casino everywhere 😀

But Macau is not all about casino, there is lot of good place to visit here, one of them is the Ruins of St. Paul’s Cathedral, by George Chinnery (1774–1852). The cathedral was built in 1602 and destroyed by fire in 1835. Only the southern stone façade remains today. They have a good food as well, Egg Tart is one of my Favourite.

Day 7 – Tsim Sha Sui, The Last Day

We get back to Tsim Sha Sui, and it’s our last day here in Hong Kong, we spend the day with shopping, food hunting and watch Thor 2 Movies in IMAX Theatre.

We also watch Symphony of Lights; the nightly multimedia show, which involves more than 40 buildings on both sides of the harbour. Named as the ‘World’s Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show’ by Guinness World Records, coloured lights, laser beams and searchlights perform in an unforgettable all-round spectacle synchronised to music and narration that celebrates the energy, spirit and diversity of Hong Kong.

One week is not enough to explore the whole excitement of Hong Kong. But 7 days has given us unforgettable experiences, a story that we can’t tell here by words & photos. But we hope that what we share here can give you an idea for your next trip.
