Blangsinga or Tegenungan Waterfall

About Blangsinga or Tegenungan Waterfall

Known locally as both Blangsinga Waterfall and Tegenungan Waterfall, this location has become one of my go-to spots for photoshoots in Bali. The waterfall’s dual name comes from its different village entrances, each offering a slightly different experience. I personally prefer accessing it through the Blangsinga entrance, where the walk down is gentler and well-supported by clean restroom facilities, a small but important detail when clients plan outfit changes.

Reaching the waterfall feels like part of the experience. From the parking area, it’s about a 10-minute walk down a series of stairs, during which the sound of rushing water slowly grows louder. Before the waterfall comes into view, you’re already immersed in its presence, surrounded by greenery and the cool air of the valley.

What truly sets Blangsinga or Tegenungan Waterfall apart is how well it’s managed. The pathways are clear, the area is organized, and the location feels comfortable for both visitors and photoshoots. Its close distance to Ubud also makes it an easy addition to a morning session at Tegalalang Rice Terrace. With three different levels around the waterfall, couples can move through the space and create a variety of looks, from wide dramatic frames to more intimate compositions, all within a single location.

Best Time to Shoot

The best time to shoot at Blangsinga or Tegenungan Waterfall is in the morning. You don’t need to arrive as early as at Tegalalang Rice Terraces. Aim to be there between 8:00 and 9:00 AM to get good lighting and avoid the larger crowds that usually arrive later in the day.

What to Wear For Photoshoot at Blangsinga or Tegenungan Waterfall

For outfits, relaxed casual wear or a light resort-style dress works best for this location. It’s best to avoid wearing heels, as there are several stairs to navigate on the way down to the waterfall. Comfortable footwear is strongly recommended.

Entrance Fee

The management fee for a photoshoot is IDR 300,000 per couple. Regular entry without a photoshoot costs IDR 20,000 per person.
