Tibumana Waterfall is a serene hidden gem, located just upriver from the busier Reng Reng Falls. Mostly visited by locals, it offers a peaceful atmosphere, as it’s a short 5-minute drive off the main road followed by a 5-10 minute walk to the falls. If you’re staying in central Bali, reaching this beautiful spot is easy. The drive from Ubud takes only 45 minutes. As you approach Tibumana, you’ll be greeted by stunning rice fields and towering palm trees. During the right season, the tall rice paddies make a perfect backdrop for photos, and I often pause here for some additional shots.
The area around Tibumana Waterfall is breathtakingly photogenic, from the jungle-lined path leading to the falls to the cascading waters themselves. Its quiet and uncrowded nature allows you to strike creative poses without interruptions. Because of this, many couples choose Tibumana for intimate Bali elopements or proposals, often with the assistance of local authorities. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing several Bali elopements and proposal sessions at this enchanting location, making it one of my favorite spots for romantic photography.
The best time for a photoshoot at Tibumana Waterfall is in the morning around 8 AM. During this time, the lighting is soft and flattering, and the area is typically quiet, offering the perfect ambiance for capturing serene and intimate moments.
For a Tibumana Waterfall shoot, wear comfortable, neutral-toned outfits like flowy dresses or linen shirts that complement the natural surroundings, paired with practical footwear for the jungle path.
The entrance fee for a couple photoshoot at Tibumana Waterfall is Rp 250,000.
